**About the role**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contracts Manager to join this government organisation on a 1-year fixed term contract. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of this organisation by overseeing contract lifecycles, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring accountability.
As a Contracts Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the contract portfolio. You will be responsible for the end-to-end contract management process, including contract creation, negotiations, monitoring, renewals, and vendor management. Your exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to hold vendors accountable will be instrumental in ensuring successful contract delivery.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract management, liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initial drafting and negotiation to implementation, monitoring, and renewal.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, holding them accountable to their commitments and ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to align contract deliverables with project timelines and objectives.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of vendors, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in contract management, ensuring compliance and mitigating potential risks.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate contract performance and make recommendations to senior management.
**Skills & expereince**:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, preferably in a government or public sector organisation.
- Strong knowledge of contract management principles, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex contracts and large vendor portfolios effectively.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using contract management software and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
