We are the Financial Markets Authority - Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko.

This role, managing our Financial Reporting team, is an opportunity to influence stakeholders to lift the overall standards in financial disclosures, and build a financial market that work for all New Zealanders.

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

As an organisation, we have an expanding remit that will cover new regulatory ground and we're embarking on an exciting time of growth. In this role, you will manage a team responsible for the risk assessment and review process of Financial Statement and other non-GAAP disclosure information for Financial Market Conduct (FMC) reporting entities and to support the FMA on accounting matters.

The overall purpose of this team is to ensure that financial statement disclosures by FMC reporting entities is of a high standard so that investors have access to information they need to make informed decisions, and market participants have clear and well understood responsibilities. You will undertake the risk assessment and review process of high profile or contentious matters in the financial statement and other non-GAAP disclosures. With a motivated team, you can have a real impact on the market and make positive changes.

This role can be based at either our Auckland or Wellington CBD offices.

Experience managing strategic stakeholder relationships and the ability to communicate effectively in challenging circumstances is important as this role can involve explaining complex situations to senior leaders in FMC reporting entities. Experience as a people leader is a preference, however we are open to an up-and-coming leader.
