**The Role - Te Tūranga**

Due to an internal promotion, we have a great opportunity for a **Senior Adviser **to join our **Financial Advice** team in either Auckland or Wellington. Our Financial Advice team supervises and monitors the financial advice sector, including all Financial Advice Providers (FAPs) ranging from sole advisers, through to large banks, insurers, and investment management providers.

This is a frontline supervisory role where you will have regular engagement with a wide range of FAP related financial market participants. The role is broad, and no two days are the same - for example, you could be leading an onsite monitoring review, assessing potential cases of misconduct, or engaging with senior stakeholders (including C-suite level) in a regulated entity. You'll be working with a wide variety of stakeholders, from individual customers through to large multi-national businesses.

Ultimately the work you do in this role will help support fair outcomes for consumers; and you'll get the opportunity to be part of some interesting, challenging, and thought-provoking work at the forefront of regulatory delivery.

**About you - Ō pūkenga**

We're looking for a Senior Adviser who will bring strong experience to the team in either operational risk, compliance, auditing, or financial advice. You may come from banking, insurance, fund management, or perhaps another part of the financial services industry.
- The following skills and experience are key for this role:_
- Demonstrated strength in communication and stakeholder engagement skills - This role involves a good deal of professional writing and working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Project management experience, including the confidence to lead important pieces of work, and coach more junior team members.
- Experience and enjoyment in learning and interpreting legislation - and the ambiguity that comes with this
- Strong critical thinking and natural curiosity
