**About the role**

As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will be responsible for helping maintain operation of Police core systems and services. You will help clean things up if we are experiencing issues and more importantly, help us maintain processes and rules in place to ensure that our core systems function appropriately. You will also be
** **responsible for the provisioning, deployment, configuration, and administration of many different pieces of Unix/Linux operating systems, the services that are hosted upon them and our middleware environments.

Key aspects of the role will be to:

- Support the core operations team in the Unix/Linux server environment space.
- Manage and identify risks to core infrastructure and implement mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with related ICT teams and stakeholders within Police.
- Support the Operations Manager on continuous improvement initiatives across Technology Operations and ICT.
- Engage with other technology teams to provide support for Technology Operations.
- Supporting our middleware, external DNS and SSL certificates

- Experience in supporting/troubleshooting Unix/Linux systems in a large organisation;
Experience in Service Delivery in a large organisation.
- Industry certification in a relevant field.
- Be able to work in a high functioning engineering team; and
- Successful applicant must be able to pass our Police vetting process and Drug and Alcohol testing.
