Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
As the Senior Advisor, Liaison, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive advice regarding compliance and enforcement activities across the regulatory functions of the Vaping Regulatory Authority (VRA) and the Tobacco Regulatory Authority (TRA). This role will involve supporting decision-making processes for licenses and approvals under the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act, as well as contributing to investigations and decisions related to regulatory non-compliance and complaints. You will establish and maintain relationships with external agency partners such as NPHS, Justice, Customs, and Police to facilitate joint compliance efforts.
You will also play a critical role in supporting regulatory compliance and enforcement efforts within the Ministry of Health, working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to uphold regulatory standards and protect public health. To excel in this role, we are seeking an individual with a proven track record of compliance and a comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks. Your ability to think strategically, analyse complex information, and propose innovative solutions will be essential. Your excellent communication will foster a culture of continuous improvement.

- Practical experience within a compliance organisation or regulatory body
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships and work collegially within a high performing team environment
- Experience, or interest, in working in a regulatory and/or audit environment
