If you would enjoy the challenge and autonomy of a standalone Contracts & Procurement Specialist position in Taupo District Council’s PMO, we’d love to hear from you. This position presents a unique opportunity to drive diverse procurement and contract processes and build organisational capability. Also, to contribute to the district you live in.

**The Challenge**
- Partner with Operational, Asset, Contract and Project Managers and steer effective procurement and contract management processes and outcomes.
- Be actively involved in the more complex or significant procurement processes and higher value contracts.
- Attend meetings with key suppliers to drive delivery and performance.
- Continuously improve the framework, strategies, policies, and tools for procurement and contract management. Includes supplier diversity and social responsibility.
- Share your expertise and build others’ understanding and capability in procurement, negotiation, contracts, and supplier management.
- Establish positive relationships within Council and with iwi, community, suppliers, consultants, and contractors, plus industry bodies and other Councils.

**Your Skills**
- A related tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, Contract or Project Management, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of procurement and contracts related experience.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- A relationship builder and collaborator.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Well-equipped to coach and train others.
