**Te** **kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**

Downer is proudly supporting a range of exciting Construction projects across Central Plateau. The Downer Construction division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country.

In this role, you will be working both independently and alongside a dedicated and hardworking crew, to plan and carry out specialist concrete and formwork activities within the Downer business structure. You will optimise the use of resources and contribute to the successful completion of our Taupo-based contracts.

Essentially you will pour, spread, smooth and finish concrete for structures such as ramps, footpaths, kerbs etc. Other responsibilities include:

- Erecting concrete formwork and laying steel reinforcing
- Pouring, spreading, and levelling concrete using screeds and templates
- Forming expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straight edges
- Cutting lines in concrete using power cutters
- Cover freshly poured concrete with colouring powders and other materials
- Other civil construction activities as required

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**

You will be a team player with an organised and systematic approach to the working environment with some experience in the civil contracting industry. You will also have:

- Experience in specialized concrete and formwork
- Experience with finished concrete work to pre-cast finishing standard (desirable)
- Full Drivers licence
- A Zero harm focus
- The ability to work well within a team and independently
