The primary responsibility of the Legal Counsel / Paralegal Management is to provide sound legal counsel to senior leaders within NTT Ltd. This position supports the development of company policies to ensure the alignment to required legislation. They manage and coordinate compliance initiatives and activities with these policies and ensure legal consistency across the business unit. They work with internal stakeholders to execute compliance programs.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Provide legal advice to service and business units and regional legal colleagues.
- Represent the company on client contracts, legal coordination and assist with the development of company policies to ensure the alignment to required legislation.
- Manage and coordinate compliance initiatives and activities with these policies and ensure legal consistency across the business unit.
- Work with internal stakeholders to execute legal strategy.
- Ensure on a continuous basis that the legal organization flexibly reacts and is aligned to current business drivers and legislation by identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the optimization of commercial, legal, and risk management across the business unit and act as a liaison on mergers and acquisitions.
- Observe the external markets to identify legal potential risks, incidents, and problems that may occur and ensure remediation.
- Provide legal advice and commercial support in terms of bids and proposals.
- Act as liaison on all material litigious matters, disputes, acquisitions, and disposals.
- Provide information that will ensure the onboarding of new employees and training material that clarifies company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the status of legal issues being dealt with.
- Ensures that the required process, policies, and tools relating to financial, people, marketing, and delivery management are in place.
- Streamline procedures to minimize the adverse impact of incidents and problems on business operations and prevent the recurrence of incidents and related problems.
- Manage the planning and coordination of various company insurance issues.
- Participate in commercial and legal negotiations.
- Coach, manage and develop a team of direct reports.
- Analyze legislation trends and provide information and recommendation for policies and procedures.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes**:

- Strong understanding of IT industry environment and business needs
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present information clearly and succinctly
- Demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism
- Excellent commercial acumen and skilled at making decisions
- Proactive approach with excellent attention to detail and planning and organizing skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate with a good strategic understanding
- Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues at all levels
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Ability to establish and manage processes and practices through collaboration and the understanding of business
- Ability to manage urgent and complex tasks simultaneously
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to interact professionally at all levels internally and externally

**Academic Qualifications and Certifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree, Legal

**Required Experience**:

- Good level of relevant experience in a similar role within a related environment
- Proven success in providing sound legal advice
- Experience working within a global environment and co-ordinating information across multiple regions
- Previous experience with the analysis of key legal trends that impact business and case law
- Demonstrated leadership experience, managing a team of individuals
