Mō te tūnga | About the role
The purpose of the Professional Development Group is to build the practice, leadership, and cultural capability of frontline social workers, kaimahi, and leaders to deliver quality practice, and improve outcomes for tamariki, whānau, hapū, and Iwi. We design, develop, and deliver Learning Programs informed by the organisational approach to practice, and manage the organisational digital learning platform. We engage external partners to offer tertiary related pathways, and work closely with internal and external partners to continuously improve the quality of learning programs offered.
The purpose of the Manager Learning Program Delivery is to lead and manage the delivery team to deliver a suite of programs including two 12-month Induction programs. This role will lead a team of professionals with a range of experience including adult learning, statutory practice and leadership, and a confident level of delivering programs informed by Te Ao Māori values and learning methodologies. The role is responsible for building and maintaining systems and structures that will ensure efficiency, provide an evidence base for accountability, and deliver a program that supports all ākonga to successfully achieve completion of their learning responsibilities.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

**Key requirements of the role include**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience is required.
- Role models commitment to Ako Māori, and ensures an environment where te reo Māori, tikanga and Te Ao Māori are built into the infrastructure of learning.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team with a range of skills and experience that weave together to deliver learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and experience in delivery learning in an educational setting would be highly regarded.
- An excellent track record in delivering successful learning and development projects and supporting major organisational change would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge and/or experience of contemporary social issues that contribute to the challenges experienced by tamariki and whānau who are reported to Oranga Tamariki.
- Experience in a public sector organisation in a role requiring strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to meet time frames and deliver quality results.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade across group and service boundaries to achieve desired outcomes.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of stakeholders.
