What your role and typical day might look like

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to take lead on the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for our dentsu Creative, dentsu Media and Merkle brands. You’ll play a central role within the Commercial Finance team to ensure forecasting and budgeting is completed on time and is accurate.

Partnering with our brand leaders, you’ll possess a natural curiosity to probe and challenge assumptions to ensure forecasts are robust and coordinate all parts of the business to form an up-to-date view of the financial outlook to ensure we meet our goals as a business. At dentsu we’re continuously looking to improve our processes and create more efficiencies, so you’ll be tasked with championing the adoption of our pipeline management tool ‘Salesforce’ across the business and PowerBI dashboards to present insights to senior stakeholders, Executive Leadership Team and the GM of Finance.

Responsibilities could include- Providing strategic commercial financial advice and guidance to dentsu leadership teams and support the achievement of the business strategy, revenue, and profit targets- Responsible for overseeing the preparation of budgeting and forecasting numbers for local, regional and group reporting in co-ordination with the GM of Finance.- Prepare and present budgets and forecasts to NZ senior management, and supporting the GM of Finance in discussions with the business- Provide interpretation of financial analysis to enable business areas to make key decisions and achieve targets.- Assisting and delivering strategic commercial outputs and projects aligned to business plans- Build strong and credible partnerships with the Senior Leadership teams and stakeholders by providing high quality commercial finance support, advise on strategic financial plans and highlighting new growth opportunities, options, trade-offs and risks- Overseeing the production of the monthly management commentary, giving a clear understanding of key business trends sourced from the business senior management team- Preparation of ongoing client/team profitability and working with business leaders to improve remuneration opportunities and operational efficiencies- Liaise with dentsu Financial Controlling team to finalise the monthly management accounts- Support the implementation of best practice planning and control techniques alongside the wider Finance team to ensure timely and accurate data for budgeting and forecasting needs

A bit about you- 5+ years of career experience in Commercial Finance and Accounting role. CPA/CA or similar qualification strongly preferred but not essential- Proven Finance Business Partnering experience and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships- Experience working in a large, complex global organisation. Backgrounds in advertising, technology consulting, or similar industry experience would be highly beneficial- Client focused and a strong communicator - fluent English language skills a must (written and spoken), as is the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and foster a collaborative working relationship with the wider finance team- A keen eye for detail and problem solving - able to identify opportunities, resolve potential risks and issues, and negotiate solutions to achieve desired outcomes- Possesses leadership qualities - ability to inspire others to be inquisitive and purposeful- Experience in a fast-paced operating environment and
