**Your new company**

You'll be joining a large, well-reputed government organisation head-quartered in Wellington CBD. In this business critical, Senior Finance Business Partner position you'll join a team who are responsible for ensuring the fiscal sustainability, providing access to high-quality financial information and strategic advice, and enhancing financial literacy across key areas of the business.

**Your new role**

As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will deliver trusted, robust, and insightful financial advice to support the Senior Leadership team in achieving their strategic objectives. Beyond mere numbers, your guidance will inform and influence sound financial decision-making within a dynamic, diverse, and challenging environment. Responsibilities include delivering timely, accurate financial information, identifying and escalating issues, linking financial and non-financial data, guiding portfolio decisions, developing resource strategies, and contributing to effective delivery of outputs. Additionally, support is provided for Official Information Act (OIA) requests and other relevant matters.

**What you'll need to succeed**

This role demands flexibility, resilience, emotional intelligence, and effective collaboration with senior stakeholders. In order to be considered, you will possess the following:

- ** Finance Business Partner Experience**: 5-10 years, with 5-7+ years post Chartered Accountant qualification
- ** Knowledge Base**: Strong understanding of relevant standards, principles, policies, systems, and processes, including the Public Finance Act and PBE IPSAS
- ** Analytical Skills**: Proven ability in quantitative and qualitative analysis, complex problem-solving, sound decision-making, and creative thinking at a senior level
- ** Stakeholder Management**: Experienced at driving outcomes and managing diverse stakeholder interests
- ** Strategic Skills**: Strong analytical, strategic, and planning abilities, coupled with commercial acumen
- ** Relationship Building**:Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining working relationships at all levels
- ** Team Collaboration**: Effective team player at senior leadership levels
- ** Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication, including translating complex data into clear insights
- ** Computer Literacy**: Proficient in core tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI)
