AECOM’s Energy group are looking for a Team Lead in Secondary Systems Design to work across a number of diverse and challenging projects in Transmission and Distribution, while leading a technical team of design engineers. This role will allow a proven engineer to utilise their engineering knowledge and progress their career in a team leadership role.

**What will a day in this role look like?**

With a strong pipeline of Transmission and Distribution projects awarded across New Zealand we are looking for a substation secondary engineer to support our fantastic team in Wellington. As well as taking on the responsibility of a Team Lead role, you will be involved in project delivery either in a project management or technical capaciity.
- Leading a team of protection and secondary design engineers which includes:

- Ensuring the welfare of the team and maintaining a collaborative environment.
- Safeguarding the wellbeing and safety of team members and ensuring adherence with AECOM policies/procedures.
- Coordinating and scheduling project teams to successfully execute projects.
- Being responsible for team KPIs
- Involvement in business development activities and preparing proposals.
- Fostering and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Identifying and driving change in the team to enhance client experience.

**Qualifications**
- Proven technical competency in HV substations secondary design with the ability to work independently
- Leadership experience - people and/or projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with the drive to achieve outstanding results
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Commercial acumen, and the ability to maintain client base
- Proven ability to deal with competing demands under tight timeframes
- Experience working in an engineering consultancy is an advantage
- Project management experience is an advantage
- Experience working with NZ clients and local industry knowledge is an advantage.
