Our Whanau Support Services reflect our belief that all New Zealanders deserve to live fully, have equal opportunities, and achieve their ambitions.

We are looking for part time Support Workers in Porirua region, who would be confident in providing individual support to young men either in the family home or with their interests out in the community.

**What does a Support Worker do?**

As a Support Worker you are part of a team who works shifts or specific rosters ensuring people are supported to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. This is a busy and diverse role supporting people to do the things they want to do. Responsibilities include support with after school homework and recreation, assisting sometime with transporting to and from school or community activities, building confidence and connections to join local groups, assist to start looking for work, assist to take to local shops or cafes.

**We're looking for people with the following skills**:

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours
- Experience working with youth is advantageous
- Availability to work after school hours and at least one day during weekends
- Full drivers' license and owning your own vehicle is essential.
