At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.

Our vision for He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua is derived from our belief in the importance of quality early childhood education for the children themselves, their whānau, their community and for Aotearoa New Zealand. Therefore, we seek to be a leader in the provision of high-quality early childhood education, and by demonstrating what can be achieved, be seen as advocates for children and whānau and help to improve quality early childhood education throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whānau Manaaki’s 108 kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.

**Community Description**

Churton Park is a suburb of Wellington, situated about 2km north of Johnsonville. We are the only kindergarten in Churton Park, and we are a central point for friendships and networks in our community and neighbouring suburbs. We have a large outdoor area for children to play outside and to challenge themselves physically. We also have a quiet natural space, our ‘magic garden’. We provide learning experiences that introduce and broaden the children’s knowledge of cultures in their communities.

We celebrate Chinese New Year, Holi, Matariki, Diwali, and have Pōwhiri to welcome new children.The kindergarten is diverse with a range of ethnicities represented within Churton Park. We are adjacent to Churton Park School where most of our children go on to attend. As such we have a good relationship, which enables a smooth transition from kindergarten to school.

This is a fulltime role worked Monday to Friday - 8.10am to 4.40pm.

We are licensed for 44 children who attend for 6 hours each day. You will join our team of 4 other teachers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who:

- can show confidence to support Te Reo Māori and committed to deepening our cultural journey in Tiriti o Waitangi
- has a strength in providing an inclusive curriculum that promotes children's sense of themselves as active learners
- celebrates other cultures forming relationships with whānau with a lens of supporting their wealth of knowledge they bring with them to our kindergarten learning community
- engages in pedagogical discussions with team, reflect on practice and make improvements to benefit best outcomes for children.
