**He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua Introduction | **He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua Timatanga Kōrero**

At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.

Our vision for He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua is derived from our belief in the importance of quality early childhood education for the children themselves, their whānau, their community and for Aotearoa New Zealand. Therefore, we seek to be a leader in the provision of high-quality early childhood education, and by demonstrating what can be achieved, be seen as advocates for children and whānau and help to improve quality early childhood education throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
Out of this vision comes Ngā Uara - Our Values:

- Nurturing the mana of the child
- Kounga - Quality
- Mahi Tahi - Partnership
- Pono - Integrity
More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whānau Manaaki’s 108 kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.

**Community Description**
The kindergarten is nestled at the back of Karori Park and surrounded by native bush. We enjoy taking regular bush walks in our local area. We are a 10-minute walk from the bus stop and 15 minutes from the local mall, library, and community centre. We have strong links to our 3 local schools, particularly Karori West Normal School with whom we have a strong working relationship.

We are licensed to 42 children who attend for 6 hours each day. You will join our team of 4 other teachers.

As a Part-time Teacher your total hours of work will be 24 hours per week, worked as follows:
Monday: 8.00am - 1: 15pm (.5 unpaid lunch break) 4.75 hrs
Tuesday: 11:15am - 4:30pm (.5 unpaid lunch break) 4.75hrs
Wednesday: 11:15am - 4:30pm (.5 unpaid lunch break) 4.75hrs
Thursday: 11.15am - 2:45pm 3.5hrs
Friday: 8.00am - 2:45pm (.5 unpaid lunch break) 6,25hrs

We are well resourced and have an amazing outdoor area. Our families come from diverse backgrounds with a wide variety of cultures, languages, values, and aspirations.
