**He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua Introduction | **He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua Timatanga Kōrero**
At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.
Our vision for He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua is derived from our belief in the importance of quality early childhood education for the children themselves, their whānau, their community and for Aotearoa New Zealand. Therefore, we seek to be a leader in the provision of high-quality early childhood education, and by demonstrating what can be achieved, be seen as advocates for children and whānau and help to improve quality early childhood education throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
Out of this vision comes Ngā Uara - Our Values:
- Nurturing the mana of the child
- Kounga - Quality
- Mahi Tahi - Partnership
- Pono - Integrity
More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whānau Manaaki’s 108 kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.
Community Description
At Brian Webb Kindergarten, we continue to strengthen our relationships with the local schools and to collaborate and connect with Linden community to lift the profile of the kindergarten. We have ongoing development of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our philosophy and practices in the kindergarten.
Brian Webb Kindergarten is located in the suburb of Tawa, in Northern Wellington, and is close to Porirua city. The kindergarten community consists of families from varying cultures and socio-economic backgrounds and are drawn from the wider Tawa area. Brian Webb Kindergarten feeds into several different schools. We are licenced for 40 children who attend for 6 hours each day. Brian Webb is a full year kindergarten and opens during the term break. You will join our team of 4 other teachers. You will be flexible and ready to engage with tamariki and Kaiako in the environment.
**We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako /teacher who**:
- show confidence to support Te Reo Māori and committed to deepening our cultural journey in Tiriti o Waitangi
- has a strength in providing an inclusive curriculum that promotes children's sense of themselves as active learners
- celebrate other cultures forming relationships with whānau with a lens of supporting their wealth of knowledge they bring with them to our kindergarten learning community
- engage in pedagogical discussions with team, reflect on practice and make improvements to benefit best outcomes for children
