**What we are looking for**:
We are seeking an IT Senior Systems Administrator with over three years of on premise and cloud experience with Microsoft technologies to join our IT Operations Team in Wellington. You will be joining a highly skilled team of Administrators and Engineers and IT professionals who deliver solutions enabling the future of environmental research for all New Zealanders.

You will be involved with the management and support of NIWA's Microsoft technologies throughout New Zealand, including the systems on our two science vessels, to ensure a robust, resilient, and secure environment is maintained.

**What you will bring**:

- Systems administration experience with the Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 technology stacks including Microsoft server, AD and AAD skills.
- An understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, experience with the Power Platform, windows automation including PowerShell scripting and ansible, Exchange Online, Teams, knowledge of cloud platforms e.g., Azure, and an understanding of networking concepts is useful.
- Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Ability to fit into an established team of talented administrators and engineers, bringing a level of maturity gained from your experience but also the flexibility that will see you asking for assistance when you are working on unfamiliar systems or the ability to mentor and share your expertise with other team members.
- A team player with a good sense of humour and a "Can do" attitude and able to effectively communicate to a wide range of people.
