The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. We are the kaitiaki of electricity. Our purpose is to enhance New Zealanders' lives, prosperity, and environment through electricity.
About the role
You will contribute by working alongside your colleagues, collectively responsible for monitoring, investigating and enforcing compliance with the Code, the Electricity Industry Act and various regulations. The role has a proactive approach to work in a collaborative way with the sector whilst we carry out these responsibilities.
Our work is varied and diverse, with opportunities to drive change across the electricity sector to improve the lives of New Zealanders. You can expect to deal with a wide range of participant types on interesting matters including market operation and activities, grid assets, reconciliation, information management and participant audits.
About you

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Skills in investigation and analysis of complex and difficult issues
- An ability to communicate effectively to a variety of internal and external stakeholders for a successful outcome
- An ability to present and express ideas succinctly and clearly, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrable ability to interpret legal, financial and regulatory matters
- Exceptional relationship management skills in order to manage conflicting viewpoints, with the aim of facilitating a negotiated agreement or acceptance between the parties
- Excellent self-management, prioritisation and time management skills
- Knowledge of the electricity sector or a background in regulatory compliance
