**About the role**:
Our Residential Red Zone team manages natural and developed open space in and around Ōtākaro-Avon River Corridor, Southshore, Brooklands and Te Pātaka o Rākaihautu-Banks Peninsula primarily for biodiversity conservation and recreation facilitation outcomes in line with the Regeneration Plan, and they are now looking for a Supervisor, Urban Parks Field Ranger.
This role will allow you to showcase your leadership capability, motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently excellent service. The ability to build and maintain relationships not only with your peers within the Parks unit, but across diverse groups including Community Boards and Councillors will come naturally to you.
You will supervise the Residential Red Zone Ranger Team, who carry out all manner of maintenance work relating to supporting and developing our biodiversity and recreational assets, as well as responding to community requests. No two days will be the same, with a busy schedule and workload that varies from job to job. You will also be a 'doer' who likes to lead by example to muck in and get the job done
**About you**:
You will be a people person, able to relate at all levels of the community and within your team. You have an optimistic outlook, with the flexibility to be involved in activities across the Unit to address demand in department or area workloads.
You will have a Level 4 NCEA qualification that is relevant to Parks Maintenance, Landscaping, or Conservation Operations, or practical working experience in a similar role, supported by a minimum of five years' experience in a similar environment, including at least two years in a leadership role. You will also ideally have previous experience supporting positive biodiversity and recreational outcomes. You will have a focus on accuracy, as you will be required to complete daily recording of tasks, completion of maintenance requests and hazard identification/risk assessment documentation.

Salary - _The salary band for this position goes from $78,464 - $87,182 per annum based on a 40 hour working week. _
