**About the role**:
As an Urban Park Ranger
- Field, you will be responsible for carrying out all manner of maintenance related activities, within the city's Community Parks, including maintaining playgrounds and responding to requests for service from citizens who visit our parks.
**About you**:
- You will be a people person and able to relate at all levels of the community and within your team
- You have an optimistic outlook, with the flexibility to be involved in activities across the unit to address demand in department or area workloads
- You will be able to make decisions independently as well as understand when to seek advice and support.
**Skills and Experience**:
- You will have a relevant trade qualification (Level 4 Landscape Construction desirable), or practical working experience in a similar role.
- You will demonstrate the ability to undertake small building works typical in landscaping and safe operation of other appropriate machinery
- Be meticulous in respect to Health and Safety, as you will be required to complete daily recording of tasks, completion of maintenance requests and hazard identification/risk assessment documentation
**Additional information**:
- Hours of work: Full-time, permanent
- Location - This position is based at Pages Road depot, but works throughout the city.
- Parks are a 7 day a week operation and you will be required to cover the occasional weekend day to ensure we can respond to urgent call outs for park-related matters.
