We are looking for an Assistant Analyst or Analyst to join our Data and Information Disclosure team within our Infrastructure Regulation branch. This is a 2 year fixed term position based in our either Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
You will join the team that plays a key part in improving transparency about the performance of infrastructure monopolies. We do this by:

- Analysing issues and proposing solutions
- Collecting and managing data
- Improving processes and products
- Providing guidance to providers

You will have an opportunity to make a difference through what information we collect and how we make use of it to inform both external and internal stakeholders. You will gather and critically analyse information, identify key issues, draw logical conclusions, and help present these back to our decision makers. You will work on multiple projects within multi-disciplinary teams made up of lawyers, economists, and technical specialists.

To be successful in this role you will be a team player with experience working in a fast-paced project team environment. You will be proactive and solutions-focused and be able to think, write and communicate clearly for a wide range of audiences. You will also be inquisitive with sound critical thinking skills and be comfortable presenting to stakeholders. You will be interested in what can be achieved with the right data.
Ideally, you will also have experience in some of the following:

- policy analysis
- writing issues analysis and solutions papers
- analytical tools such as excel, Tableau, Power BI, R
- relationship management skills
- sector experience in electricity, gas, fibre or airports

A university degree in an analytical field (e.g. commerce, economics, statistics) as well as regulation experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
