**_ The Team: _**What we do**

The Burwood Adult Rehabilitation Unit provides support to patients with acquired brain injury e.g. stroke, traumatic brain injury, hypoxic brain injury; Neurological conditions e.g. Multiple Sclerosis and Huntington's Disease. The service also provides carer relief or respite care. The department believes in facilitating empowered living, while providing quality neuro-rehabilitation. This is a multidisciplinary team who work with whānau and carers to provide a collaborative approach to ensure the communication of assessments, goal setting and the completion of patient's rehabilitation plans provide optimal care.

This Medical Secretary role - s function is to provide secretarial and administrative assistance to the Burwood Adult Rehabilitation Unit. This role plays a vital part in the effective and efficient running of the departments as well as assisting the team to meeting their objectives. This full time role for 40 hours per week.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Management of discharge documentation
- Patient follow up
- Minute taking
- Receipting invoices
- Admin support
- Typing of monthly on call rosters
- Record annual statistics
- Manage clinical review meeting and set up
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Various administration tasks including relief receptionist duties
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
- General and some medical typing
- Booking and coordination of outpatient clinics

- Excellent customer orientated skills
- Typing Skills (50 - 70 WPM) (essential)
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Work collaboratively as part of a team
- Intermediate skills in the Microsoft suite e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- A background working as an administrator in the health industry would be beneficial
