Come and be a part of our supportive, dynamic and flexible Critical Care team working together to provide quality care to all patients within the Midland region.
- We are looking for a trainee to join our team of Critical Care Technicians providing technical and clinical support for all disciplines within our department.
- If you are a motivated, practical person with good organisational and problem-solving skills, we will provide you with on the job training and support.

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Assess equipment faults and facilitating the repair / replacement process.
- Self-motivated to become familiar with the clinical function of Critical Care equipment and processes.
- Assist with set up and removal of monitoring and respiratory equipment for intra-hospital transports, including becoming proficient in all equipment required to safely transport a patient to MRI.
- Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team to contribute to achieving the goals of Critical Care and the best outcome for patients.
- Cleaning / Calibration / Functional Safety Testing of various types of equipment.

- Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

- Previous experience in Health Sector desirable but not essential - Logical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- A team player, with a great attitude and ability to learn quickly on the job
- Accurate, efficient and plenty of initiative
- Excellent time management, having the ability to prioritise work tasks
- Highly effective communication skills
- Basic / Advanced computer and administration skills

- The Critical Care Department is comprised of a 12 bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) and a 22 bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The department is state of the art, and provides an excellent opportunity to work in a progressive and motivated environment with the latest technology. We are at the centre of a regional referral network across the middle of the North Island, with all the related trauma and air retrieval activities that go along with that.
