Mō te tūnga - About the role
Barbara Kuriger MP is looking for an MP Support Coordinator to join her team for 20 hours per week. You'll be supporting constituents in Te Kuiti to engage with their elected representative, and helping your MP to connect with the community.
Tō kete - What you will bring to the role
Your previous experiences in providing administrative support and customer engagement will be nothing short of excellent. You'll be comfortable dealing with people and be close to the issues facing the community and be able to do this while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
You'll be highly organised and love working within a collaborative team.
As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

**Ngā haepapa - Responsibilities**:

- Assist with community engagement and constituent services for the MP
- Monitor local forums, newsletters, and community Facebook pages where required, and maintain established information databases relating to work and contacts made in the community
- Help provide information and advice to constituents on parliamentary processes and services
- Maintain established databases and files relating to constituent issues
- Raise common constituent issues and escalate complex cases where agreed with the team manager and/or the MP

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.
The pay band for the role starts at $65,630 per annum for a full-time equivalent role and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events-based' agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in Te Kuiti for 20 hours per week.
