**About the role**

As an MP Support Advisor, you'll provide community engagement and constituent services for Melissa Lee MP, based in her Auckland Community Office for 40 hours per week. This is a wide and varied position and at times you'll need to support the Member at community-based events and other times attend these meetings. The ability to build strong and trusted relationships is key to being successful in this role.

You'll need to have strong relationship management and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with a diverse range of people and organisations. You'll be required to work autonomously.

**Responsibilities**
- Liaise between the Member and the community, representing the Member where required
- Develop and maintain relationships with local groups and networks, to understand and respond to their needs
- Receive and investigate constituents' concerns and issues, meeting with constituents for further information where required
- Advocate for constituents at Ministerial level, with Government agencies, e.g. Work & Income, Immigration NZ, and with other business and community organisations where required.
- Assist in managing the Member's parliamentary budget.

The pay band for the role starts at $70,000 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role will be based in Auckland in Melissa Lee's community office, for 40 hours per week.
