Assistant Transport Manager

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Transport Manager who is looking to complete deliveries for our valued customers and provide assistance to management for the smooth operations of the business, whilst ensuring that all freight delivery standards are met.
**Job Purpose**
To effectively assist the Business Owner and Manager with the smooth operation of the business on a daily basis whilst ensuring that all freightmeets its delivery standard and that customer expectations are fully met.
**Key accountabilities**
- Audit company vehicles on a regular basis ensuring that Vehicle Registration, Warrants of Fitness and Road User charges are current.
- Assist with the purchasing of new and the maintenance of existing company vehicles
- Actively be involved in effective and successful business planning (eg. run changes) so as to create improved operational profit
- Assist with the recruitment process for new employees
- Identify any human resource requirements within the team and co-ordinate these with the business owner/manager
- Communicate with customers on a professional level at all times to enhance customer experience and service standards.
- Whilst ensuring that the services provided fully meet our customer expectations actively seek to identify possible areas of improvement and co-ordinate these with the Business Owner/Manager.
- Monitor the CourierPost run KPI’s and report performance issues to the Operations Manager or Business Owner.
- Assist with the management of Payroll, PAYE records and general accounts
- Identify any processes or procedures of the business that could be enhanced to improve efficiencies and profitability.
- Ensure correct loading and unloading of goods
- Ensure staff comply with all Health and Safety requirements as required by the business owner and legislation.
- Drive couriers as required.
Hours of work: Full time, minimum of 30 hours
Pay range: $25.00- $35.00
