**Senior Recovery Advisor**

**About the role**

The Senior Recovery Advisor is a fixed term position, for 12 months to assist with recovery preparedness, planning and capacity building during the recovery phase of an event. The role will support the Recovery leadership to develop, analyse, coordinate and plan recovery operations, while supporting to improve overall recovery readiness.

Reporting to the Recovery Manager your role will be office based, working in the greater team of 7 people.

You’ll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council’s work.

**Duties Include**:

- Support and lead the recovery coordination across the four environments of recovery built, natural, social and economic
- Provide direction and support in recovery planning in consultation with stakeholders
- Proactively respond to the reporting requirements
- Lead and coordinate environment recovery tasks and plans
- Effective management of external and internal relationships

**Skills & experience**
- Significant relevant experience in a relevant discipline i.e., policy development or emergency management
- Experience with project management and reporting frameworks
- Exercise planning and participation

Anyone from a Civil Defence Emergency Management background will suit this role.
