**About the role**

No two days will be the same.** **In this role you’ll play an important role in assisting with the planning, coordination and delivery of communications and engagement activities. This role will support the Strategic Planning and Communications and Engagement teams with the Tairawhiti Resource Management Plan (TRMP), which sets out how Council will make decisions on the natural and built environment in Tairāwhiti.

Reporting to the Kaiarataki Tuia Tāngata / Manager Engagement, your role will be office based, working in the greater team of nine people.

You’ll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council’s work.

**Duties Include**:

- Support the Senior Communications Advisor - TRMP to implement TRMP brand and messages throughout the TRMP phases.
- Support with the organisation, planning and delivery of engagement meetings around the region.
- Assist with producing and managing required communications and engagement materials and events for the TRMP review programme in liaison with the Communications team and wider TRMP Programme team.
- Assist with development, implementation and monitoring of communications strategies to ensure cohesive communication and engagement for the TRMP.

**Skills & experience**
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in technical writing or communications with two years relevant experience
- Experience with community groups, including organisation of events or related projects.
- Experience in planning and implementing engagement strategies with a range of stakeholders including businesses, iwi and hapū groups is desirable.

Anyone with comms or engagement experience will suit this role.
