**About the role**

Investment in our mental health services, now branded as LagiOla - Healthy Minds, is being increased as we continue to transform how The Fono provides health and wellbeing services for Pacific families. We have new positions available right now within the LagiOla and wider practice team locations. The role of LagiOla Community Navigator is designed to further increase the impact LagiOla is making in mind health support by ensuring Pacific cultural considerations are recognised in the services and support elements.

LagiOla Community Navigators assist and support clients and families to access and navigate services which will facilitate the achievement of overall wellbeing goals. They work with the LagiOla Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists. Mind Health Practioners and Health Coaches along with the entire general practice team and Whanau Ora Navigators.

The Fono is the leading service provider for Pacific families and the LagiOla Community Navigator role is aligned with Pacific models of care. The role sits within a skilled and trained workforce of practitioners who understand the Pacific context, values, uniqueness and diversity. Location - West or South Auckland bases.

**About you**

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a suitable health, mental health or social services background and a passion for working alongside Pacific people and their families. You will be comfortable working in a role requiring flexibility, and variety of approaches that are appropriate for our patients/consumers and their families. You will see this as a tremendous opportunity to use your skills to make a difference in the physical and mental health of people.

You will have:

- Knowledge of protocols amongst Pacific peoples with the ability to work across various Pacific groups
- Experience relevant to a community mental health, social or education role
- A broad understanding of health, social services and other Pacific focused wellbeing services available
- The talent to develop rapport with a wide range of people
- A positive ‘can-do' attitude, particularly in times of stress.
