**About the role**

The National Intelligence Centre supports Police leaders and officers to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing.

We are looking to recruit an Intelligence Analyst to join the National Intelligence Centre based at the Police National Headquarters.

The National Intelligence Centre is made up of several different workgroups and provides an opportunity to get different experience across a wide range of topics.

There is currently an opportunity for an Analyst in the Security Intelligence and Threats Group, and there may be opportunities in other Groups that applicants will be considered for.

Security Intelligence and Threats Group is a specialist team which focuses and provides intelligence on national security and violent extremism. By providing operational and strategic intelligence products and analysis, Security Intelligence and Threats Group ensures that decision-makers at all levels are provided with an understanding of the New Zealand and international security environment.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates good analytical processes and stakeholder engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-evolving environment are important.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Undertake analysis and produce intelligence products to address identified priorities.
- Proactively identify emerging or escalating trends.
- Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports/presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings appropriate to a range of audiences.
- Lead and collaborate on projects and group analysis.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and demands to maintain quality of work under strict timeframes.
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability, with the ability to work in a high-pressure, fast evolving environment.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of positive relationships (internal and external).
- Lead by example with a committed, positive attitude towards teamwork and professional development.
- Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, identifying opportunities to reflect these in Intelligence products.

**Special requirements**
- New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or a permanent NZ resident
- Hold the NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (NZDIA) or equivalent or able to complete NZDIA modules early in employment through Police
