Given the small team, the successful applicant will have the chance to oversee all facets of planning, from resource consent planning and engineering to RMA policy.
_ About the role_
Due to an internal promotion we're looking for an experienced Planning Manager to join our team.
The work is fast-paced, varied and challenging, requiring someone with a broad skill set.
You need to be able to help advise on resource consents and RMA planning but you also need to be able to deliver it through to the end.
Key elements of this position will include:
- Leading resource consent processing, ensuring that all consents align with our District Plan, regional and national policy direction and current legislation,
- Leading plan changes and policy development to support growth and development in the district while protecting our environment and the unique characteristics,
- Leading engagement and partnership with mana whenua, internal and external partners, key stakeholders and the community,
- Management of the team including driving a positive team culture

About you_**To be successful in this role you will need to have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate, support and develop a team.
You'll need the ability to think at a strategic level while also enjoying the operational aspects of the role.You will be highly organised, with great time management skills and attention to detail.
Our ideal applicant while technically sound will have a passion for building connections, be open to collaboration and have strong mediation and problem solving skills.
A relevant tertiary level degree is essential.**_
