**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

The Event Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Event Specialist and Student Life Team Leader to organise Ara's corporate, recruitment, staff, student and department events across its campuses and providing cross-institutional support for other events that occur, including sponsorship events and those staged by academic departments or Ara's executive (Te Kāhui Manukura - "TKM").

The Event Coordinator will be expected to support the organisation and delivery of events to a high standard aimed at enhancing Ara's reputation as a leader of applied tertiary education.

In collaboration with the Event Specialist and Marketing and Engagement team colleagues support the coordination of Ara's presence at internal and external events:

- Assist with the planning and implementation of events including but not limited to: Graduation, Mihi Whakatau (Māori Welcome) Open Days, Student Orientation and Wellbeing Events, Youth recruitment events, Industry engagement events.
- Support co-ordination of the marketing planning for the event to create the theme, activities, and floor plans.
- Arrange booking and setup of suitable exhibition spaces.
- Manage the booking and hire of events equipment to internal clients.

- A tertiary qualification at Degree level in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated event coordination experience.
- Full, clean drivers licence.
- Event coordination or management experience
- Experience and knowledge in assisting with complex, large-scale events.
