**Principal Advisor - Survey Design and implementation**

We're recruiting for a six-month fixed-term or secondment role to backfill a secondment in the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role contributing towards the successful monitoring and delivery of the National Strategy for Eliminating Family Violence and Sexual Violence called Te Aorerekura. This role sits within Te Puna Aonui - the government's joint venture for eliminating family violence and sexual violence. This provides a unique opportunity to build relationships and support collaborative ways of working.

This position is responsible for leading and collaborating on a workforce survey to support better understanding the family violence and sexual violence workforce. We're looking for someone who understands survey design, sampling, questionnaire design and how to turn the data into compelling insights. You'll be working with other Principals and Seniors, and collaborating across Te Puna Aonui to bring in the voice of our workforces and inform future decisions across the system.

This team is also the system lead for gaining meaningful data and insights and building an evidence base to support better and consistent decision-making, interventions and learning within Te Puna Aonui and across the system. The role will support the development of an Insights Centre, aimed at providing quality strategic and operational advice.

**Ō** pūkenga/Skills and Experience**

To be successful in this role you will:

- Expert knowledge on survey design
- A strong understanding of the research and evidence base associated with family violence and sexual violence for Māori, or ability to develop this understanding.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Establishing and maintaining a range of effective internal and external business relationships and networks.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

We are a small unit, with a big role. Established as an Interdepartmental Executive Board (IEB) our mandate is to ensure there is clear, joint accountability across government for work relating to the elimination of family violence and sexual violence.

We are on a journey to establish ourselves as a learning organisation and centre of expertise that stewards the Family Violence and Sexual Violence system and cross-agency strategy - Te Aorerekura, to collectively work in partnership with the communities we serve and always hold survivors, family, and whānau at the centre of everything we do.

The Enabling Transformation group that this role sits in leads the local, regional, and national enablement of Te Aorerekura, ensuring the actions and shifts identified are whānau-centred and iwi
- and community-led. It's a newly formed group and you will have the opportunity to contribute towards building the team culture and leading how we use and analyse data and insights across the group and wider unit.

**Utu ā-tau/**Salary**

Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role will be between $128,129 and $179,172, based on skills and experience.
