Do you have a passion for providing transformative support to people who face systemic barriers to accessing equitable health and wellbeing? If so, the University of Waikato is looking for you to start in the new year.
In this role, you will specifically work within the Māori, Pasifika, LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse communities, and international students and students with disabilities to increase access to healthcare services. You will engage with key populations to identify barriers to accessing equitable health outcomes and work with individual students to enhance engagement with health screening and promotion.
You will be expected to be proactive in engaging with our student community to develop and maintain key partnerships that will allow students to engage with a variety of health and wellness providers. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other health and wellbeing providers in the Student Health Service.
This role should appeal if you are ready to utilise your expertise where it is highly valued. Students can be in a vulnerable position, and you will be ensuring that their health and wellbeing are well-supported so they can focus on their education and build their future
**Ko wai koe? - Who are you?**
Along with an applicable graduate degree and experience in community health settings, you will have proven success working independently and implementing initiatives to improve population health outcomes. You will ideally have a high degree of cultural competency working with Māori and Pasifika communities as well as experience with LGBTQIA+, takatāpui, fa'afafine and other gender diverse communities.
The ability to clearly communicate complex information to people and groups with various levels of health literacy is essential. To be successful in this role you will need to be comfortable with group and public speaking. A Bachelor of Nursing, Health Science (Health Promotion) or related field is essential.

You will be part of an integrated health team including Registered Nurses Mental Health & Wellbeing, Counsellors, Social Worker, Health Promotion and Violence Prevention Coordinators, General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Prescribers, Practice Nurses, Chaplaincy and Administrators.
