**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**: This is a permanent Principal Advisor role in MBIE's Kānoa Branch, providing secretariat support to multi-stakeholder Regional Skills Leadership Groups (RSLGs). The Government established RSLGs in mid-2021, to identify and support better ways of meeting future regional skills and workforce needs.
The northern RSLG team provides support to the Tāmaki Makaurau and Tai Tokerau, Waikato, and Bay of Plenty groups. You will be part of a team that is based across the Upper North Island that includes another Principal, Senior Advisors and Advisors, and Regional Leads. This role will be based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
The Principal Advisor will work with the Northern Region Manager, national secretariat, and wider team, to support the RSLGs to bring their regional workforce plans to life. You will bring the ability to inspire, lead, and manage, working with industry, employers, Iwi-Māori, worker representatives, educators, and wider communities.

- Proven experience in developing, leading and delivering strategic work programmes
- Ability to guide, mentor, and build capability across diverse, and geographically distributed, teams and organisations
- Wide ranging knowledge of regional labour markets and proven ability to effect change working with regional stakeholders, including Iwi-Māori
- Confident working with senior stakeholders, and leading engagement and communication strategies
