- Puawai Community Forensic are seeking a Kaingākau (passionate), Hihiko (enthusiastic), Whakamiha (respectful) and Pukenga (skilled) Registered Social Worker. If these qualities and skills resonate with you, than it is you we are seeking.

- As a member of the team, you will work in a community setting to support tangata whaiora to achive their maximum mental health potential.
- You will be supported in this role by the provision of professional supervision, in-service training, continuing professional development and peer support.
- There will be an opportunity to utilise the social work process to ensure quality health to tangata whaiora and their whanau.
- There is an expectation that in this role you will work alongside the other teams based here at Clarence Street.

- Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provide assertive, creative holistic care with a strength and recovery based practise based approach to tangata whaiora.
- Undertake a flexible approach to the support you provide which will require you to develop internal and external relationships.
- Practice effectively with autonomy as well as being an intergral part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Utilise technology for communication and documenting clinical information inclusive of a range of assessments.
- Have an understanding of risk and how to manage and mitigate these.
- To be effective leading self leadership and driving service delivery within the role and team.

**Mōu | About you**
- Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- A current annual practicing certificate enabling you to work in the mental health sector.
- Experience within the mental health field (would prefer Forensic experience but not essential).
- Ability to confidently assess, formulate presentation and risk and report this to MDT in a clear and concise manner.
- The ability to work effectively with tangata whaiora utilising recovery and a strength based approach.
- Have good interpersonal skills, therapeutic engagement, critical thinking and communication skills.
- Skills in effective documentation of clinical assessments and interventions, including formulation.
- The ability to be tangata whaiora focussed, innovative and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously.
- A good understanding of the community and services available.
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- A current full New Zealand driver’s license.
