About us - Ko wai mātou
The Student Care team provides training and support to other university staff who are managing student wellbeing or emotional distress and unwellness. These colleagues include academics, accommodation, and clinical colleagues.
As part of a supportive group of professionals, this challenging role will suit a person with a social work, counselling, mental health, psychology or related qualification and experience working with our demographic. Although this is not primarily a clinical role, it includes a limited amount of student contact and support, as well as opportunities for personal and professional growth. The role also includes an outreach component, working to engage students and staff through events and key awareness days, promoting wellbeing initiatives in collaboration with student associations, cultural support services, recreation centres, disability services and other university student support services.
Interviews will commence after the closing date of Sunday, 22 January 2023.
The employment setting has a predominance of young adults but can involve work with people across the lifespan and applicants will be required to comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and the Vulnerable Children (Requirements for Safety Checks of Children's Workers) Regulations 2015.
