At the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) | Te P Whakamarumaru, we are dedicated to our mission of keeping Aotearoa New Zealand and our people safe and secure. We collect, analyse and assess intelligence to protect New Zealand from threats such as foreign interference, espionage and terrorism.
**The role**
Lead a team of protective security advisors who provide guidance to New Zealand government and non-government entities to help uplift their capability to protect people, information and assets.
Day-to-day you'll be responsible for leadership of the Protective Security Requirements (PSR) Advisory and Partnerships team. This includes people development, oversight of the advisory and channels work programme, driving business improvement and ensuring high quality service delivery.
You will work as part of a collegiate and joined-up PSR Unit Leadership Team which actively supports communication, coordination and collaboration across all functions of the PSR Unit to deliver great outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.
The appointment salary for this role will be between $120,358 - $128,383 depending on experience.

**Who we're looking for**
Ideally you will have:
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in leading a team or delivering results through others.
- A strong customer service ethic with a track record of service delivery and creating and sustaining effective working relationships.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence thinking and behaviour, and gain buy-in from external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to proactively and efficiently manage competing priorities.
- A good business improvement mind, which looks for opportunity to innovate and evolve how we work to deliver impact for our customers.
This role works closely within a supportive leadership team. We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm, skill and commitment to take PSR advisory and outreach functions to the next level.
**Before you apply**
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
