Provide expert advice to help New Zealand entities uplift their security maturity and protect people, information and assets.

**About this opportunity**:
We are looking for an advisor with protective security expertise to support our team to deliver our PSR Assurance Improvement Project. This project involves a review of our operations and delivery with the aim of developing and rolling out new channels and delivery for our customers. This project is expected to take around two years.
As well as supporting the project you will work as part of a collegiate and joined-up PSR Unit providing protective security advice to a range of New Zealand government and non-government entities, helping them to build their protective security capability and maturity, and increase their resilience to threats. This includes supporting entities to adopt and implement the best practice Protective Security Requirements (PSR) framework. You may also contribute to other work streams, including lifting awareness of the threat of foreign interference in New Zealand and building protective security capability in the region.

**What you'll bring**:

- Existing protective security expertise or the ability to rapidly acquire it.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence thinking and behaviour, and gain buy-in from external stakeholders.
- An ability to understand customer needs, synthesise and analyse feedback, and contribute to PSR policy development.
- A strong customer service ethic and collaborative approach, with a track record of creating and sustaining collegial and effective working relationships.
- A good business improvement mind, which looks for opportunity to evolve how we work to deliver impact for our customers.
