**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

Auckland Council’s Mayoral Office has an opportunity for a Senior Communications Advisor to join the team and provide critical mahi for Tāmaki Makaurau.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Government Relations, this role will be responsible for the development of an integrated digital communications strategy for the Mayoral Office, building an online presence through a wide range of tools.

Your mahi will be to drive, manage and lead the Mayor’s social media channels, overseeing the planning and implementation of content that drives engagement and is unique to each channel.

The role will encompass:

- Leading the creation of social media content to ensure consistent messaging and tone of voice, and regular online content
- Developing a social media editorial function and policy
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring policy and protocols to ensure effective online communications through social media and the Our Auckland website
- Collaborate with content creators to create bespoke content, direct shoots and manage talent
- Oversight of the content of council and local board social media feeds

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

This role requires strong experience in a communications or journalism space, working with social media and external communications. You will need to have experience from within complex, government and political environment.

We will be looking for specific experience with:

- Social media publishing and listening programmes
- Council or parliamentary social media
- Developing and implementing process improvements
