The Ministry for Ethnic Communities is the Government's chief advisor on ethnic communities, ethnic diversity and the inclusion of ethnic communities in wider society.

The Security and Resilience Senior Community Advisor will be part of the multi-disciplinary Security and Resilience Team which works on matters concerning national security and social cohesion. This role will work on the design and delivery of community engagement activities and exhibit a deep understanding of different methodologies and approaches to support and build community resilience.
As Senior Community Advisor, you will
- Demonstrate strong conflict resolution, mediation skills, ability to use intellectual leadership and judgement to bring the best out of engagement.
- Work independently to produce high quality advice (based on gathering of engagement data, data analysis and drafting reports), which supports decision-making by Senior Leaders, Ministers and responds to accountabilities to Parliament and the public.
- Need to be able to get and maintain a Secret Security Classification.

**We will be looking to you to**:

- Function as a trusted advisor to the Leads and Director and support build engagement capability within the team.
- Plan, front, facilitate, review engagement practices and shape, analyse and deliver insights from the community engagement. This will involve the gathering of engagement data, data analysis and report writing.
- Routinely prepare and deliver reports to senior decision-makers and prepare and deliver information from the Ministry to communities.

**Ideally you will have**:

- Substantial experience in designing, running, facilitating, reviewing community, corporate or other stakeholder engagement
- Experience in research, analysing and reporting on engagement insights. Be able to produce robust and useful outputs (e.g. from focus groups, surveys etc) into useable advice.
- Experience in implementing engagement in the delivery of services, or as part prevention, intervention, treatment, hard reduction, or building resilience tools; and strong inter-cultural capability/practice.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
