Senior Māori Communications Advisor

Are you experienced working in Māori communications and seeking a new opportunity to work within a large organisation, committed to delivering Māori Outcomes for and with Māori?
As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will be reponsible for ensuring the work of the department and wider organisation, is communicated effectively and efficiently with key internal, external stakeholders, mana whenua, iwi and mataawaka.
**Position**:Senior Māori Communications Advisor
**Location**:Auckland CBD, with flexibility to WFH twice a week
**Duration**:ASAP for 3 months
**Working in the Insights and Strategy team, you will oversee the completion of the communications strategy and support developing the change management communications plan.**
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Providing senior level communications support and advice for the wider department and Leadership team
- Planning and delivery of internal and external communications plans
- Developing and maintaining close relationships both internally and externally to ensure the smooth delivery of communications
- Supporting partnerships with mana whenua and mataawaka through the collation and distribution of information
**Outcomes**:
- Communications channels and internal communications are effective and well managed
- Development of high quality and effective strategic communications content
- Internal and external stakeholders are kept-well informed of the work, direction and progress of the department
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Communications including Māori communications
- Understanding and appreciation of the workings and function of local government
- Comfortable working with mana whenua and mataawaka with Māori networks also an advantage
- Ability to hit the ground running and meet deadlines
