We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children's Hospital, located in central Auckland. We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealand's national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Nurse Consultant Māori Health, Workforce promotes, facilitates, and coordinates a culture of nursing excellence in continuous quality improvement, which aligns with strategic and operational goals, to achieve Māori health equity. The role also contributes to the strategic direction of nursing for the Māori Health Provider Services.
You'll be responsible for providing professional advice, education for nursing and clinical staff across Te Toka Tumai to ensure patients/clients and whanau receive timely and equitable care. You will have two key portfolios of work - Māori Nursing Workforce Development, and Māori Health Education for Nurses across Te Toka Tumai.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Skills & Qualifications required**:
- Qualification in speciality Nursing or working toward it
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Registration with Nursing Council of NZ
- Commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes
- Experience in multi-disciplinary clinical teaching
- Good research skills including data analysis and appraisal skills
