**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

As the Director of Māori Nursing, you will contribute to the strategic and operational work of Auckland DHB, by leading the Māori nursing workforce development and contributing to the elimination of inequities for our Māori communities and improving Māori health outcomes.

In this role you will deliver a high-performing health system focused on models of service-delivery and outcomes, for Māori People. You will work closely with Directorates and Manawa Awhi (Nursing Development Unit) to foster excellence in service-delivery, models of care, clinical standards, patient experience and quality within teams and services to meet the needs of Māori.

In this leadership role you will be required to identify critical success factor (e.g. collaborating with education partners for appropriate professional development / mentoring of Senior Māori nurses etc.) and articulate the future nursing state by making sure that workforce planning and monitoring processes are in place, to get to agreed DHB future state. Additionally, you will support kaimahi Māori by improving attraction, recruitment, retention, development and leadership.

To succeed in this role, you will have a sterling reputation with Māori Nursing communities, a current APC, and preferably a Post Graduate Diploma in Health or a Management qualification.
