**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

An exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapy Critical Care Educator has been made available. This role will be responsible for developing and overseeing education and coaching within adult critical care services at Te Toka Tumai, and provide “on the job training”, support and coaching for the Allied Health workforce. It is expected that this role will work in close collaboration with the equivalent roles across the region.

This Physiotherapy educator role will be based at Te Toka Tumai at **Auckland City Hospital **and provide support across both Adult Critical Care units, it will be supported by the Clinical Lead. The Principle Educator role within the regional group of Allied Health Critical Care Educators will lead the coordination and collaboration across the interdisciplinary team, critical care units and region.

Funding has been made available for the Allied Health workforce to expand critical care capacity and capability across the northern region. The workforce development is in response to the high demand for specialty resourcing requirements within our critical care services. Allied Health have signaled the need for educators and coaches to provide ongoing education and upskilling of key members of the workforce to ensure resilience and retention of staff.

Embedded throughout the critical care workforce development is the need to grow and develop a workforce that reflects the community we serve to ensure we improve the health of Māori and Pacific people, whilst ensuring we achieve equitable outcomes for our communities. Māori and Pacific Allied Health practitioners who work within the critical care setting will be prioritised for this funding as a commitment to grow the diversity of the workforce.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

- NZ registration as a Physiotherapist Therapist with current Annual Practicing Certificate
- 5+ years post graduate experience as a Physiotherapist with advanced level skills working in critical care
- Clinical education experience
- A commitment to biculturalism and to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- Experience working with neurological conditions, major tauma, cardiothoracic and vascular conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical MECA)

Salary Range**:Step DB 2 $116,500 to DC3 $124,000**
