Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Auckland City Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients requiring cardiovascular surgery and other complex medical treatments.

About the Role

This is a 24-hour service based at Auckland City Hospital, covering primarily elective and acute admissions. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and provide educational opportunities for junior staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients requiring cardiovascular surgery and other complex medical treatments.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Conduct regular assessments of patient condition and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Participate in educational activities to enhance professional development and knowledge.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an ICU/HDU or acute surgical/medical area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
