He angitūtanga | About the role
Sitting within our Organisational Support Directorate, we have recently identified areas of opportunity to combine our Fleet and Property teams to align with organisational design principles. As such, the newly created role of ‘National Property and Fleet Manager' has been established which will have oversight of our commercial and residential properties, as well as fleet portfolios and services. Highly strategic, this opportunity will be the driving force in creating more efficiencies, bring long term benefits and streamlined processes to the Department.

**The position will be focussed on**:

- Develop and deliver the Departmental Property Strategy, ensuring we are making good investment decisions aligned to current and long term needs of the Department
- Ensure the effective operational management of the Department's residential and commercial, owned and leased, property portfolio's which include Levels of Service, tenancy management and associated policies, procedures and processes
- Lead and drive the Departmental Fleet Strategy, ensuring its alignment with strategic direction and best practice
- Ensure the effective operational management of the department's Fleet portfolio, which includes vehicles, equipment and machinery
- Lead a small and capable team, encouraging continuous improvement and creating a supportive, collaborative team culture
- Ensuring DOC operates as an honourable treaty partner

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to bring their knowledge across property and fleet to help drive these teams to the next level as we contribute to Conservation efforts. You'll have the support of the Director, Business Services to embed your strategy and uplift the business in how we do things.
If you have some of the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

- A strong leader, you have had experience managing a team through significant change, ideally located across
- Previous involvement at a senior level with a multi-functional team (ie Property and Fleet) with a good understanding of interdependencies
- Strong financial and commercial acumen - including budget monitoring and reporting, legal, procurement and regulatory compliance requirements
- Strategic and pragmatic leader, ideally you would have been involved in the development of principles, standards and guidelines across property and fleet
- A passionate and energetic leader and mentor who leads by example and empowers their team to achieve a common goal
- A strong collaborator, you're able to build trust and influence stakeholders, taking on others opinions whilst remaining on track
- Understands the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Māori-Crown relationship

The salary range for this position is $126,896 - $180,611 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
