Mō te tūnga | About the role Reporting to the Manager Corporate Communications and Channels, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our content and social media strategies. You'll be collaborating with the team and the wider business to identify communications opportunities, and you'll develop compelling written and visual content for a range of channels, including social media, our website, intranet, and publications and collateral. On a day-to-day basis you'll be responsible for managing and monitoring our social media accounts. Using analytics and insights, you'll report on social media and content performance to identify ways to continuously improve our content and channels. This is a 6month fixed term vacancy. The salary range for this role is $98,700 - $120,600pa +3% Kiwisaver contribution. Ō wheako, ō pukenga | About you You're a creative storyteller, a relationship-builder and you have a proven track record in grasping complex concepts quickly and translating them into compelling content. Drawing on your experience of developing content strategies and the management of social media platforms, you'll be comfortable working at pace, juggling deadlines and delivering quality outputs. You're able to turn your hand to everything from writing, editing and proof-reading internal and external communications materials; creating high-quality video and photographic content; to briefing in and managing the end-to-end production of publications and collateral. Ideally, you'll be experienced in using creative software to produce on-brand visual communications as well. To be successful in this role you'll be hands-on, happy to get stuck into the day-to-day work, while maintaining a strategic view of how content supports our organisational strategy and communications and engagement objectives. What you'll bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience in a communications role
- Proven ability in creating compelling written and visual content, tailored to the audience and the channel
- Experience in the development and implementation of content and social media strategies
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
- Experience in social media monitoring and management, including developing content plans, scheduling and publishing, moderation, and community management
- Experience monitoring and interpreting data and insights across different channels, and providing recommendations for improvements
- A deep understanding of the social media landscape and social media best practice and use, ideally within a government context
- Knowledge of web content best practices, including writing for the web, plain language, search engine optimisation, and accessibility
- Experience in developing briefs for external vendors such as designers, photographers and videographers
- Video and photography skills, with experience in using graphic design software an advantage
