**The Cyber Security Architect**:
Contributes to the development and operation of security control standards and patterns for MBIE's ICT solutions and ensure optimal alignment with our cloud strategy, strategic business needs, and up-to-date good practices

Takes a business risk-based approach to the security of technology services through the planning and execution of relevant security certification and accreditation work

- Proven influencing skills including demonstrated ability to motivate others in achievement of ICT goals
- 8+ years’ experience in the security industry and experience with certification and accreditation processes and risk frameworks
- Tertiary qualification in business, ICT or a relevant security qualification like CISM, CISSP, CCSP
- Ability to establish and build strong working relationships whilst developing trust with managers, staff, project teams, vendors and other stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the NZISM and Protective Security Requirements
- The ability to clearly articulate risks and recommendations in both verbal & written formats
- Exceptional teamwork and collaborative abilities
- The ability to gain a “Secret” level New Zealand security clearance

The Cyber Security team is part DDI (Digital, Data and Insights). The branch empowers and enables the technology solutions which are key to the way the Ministry delivers its services to the public. We are a high performing collaborative team delivering high quality security outcomes.
