Christchurch Emergency Department (ED) is the largest ED in the South Island seeing more than 101,000 patients per year and covers a population catchment area of 500,000. We are part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team in the Emergency Department at Christchurch Hospital.
We have a 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) Administrator vacancy in our Emergency Department. We operate on a 24 hour 7 days a week basis, so preference will be given to applicants who are available over the full range of day, night and weekend shifts.
This is a busy and demanding role, being the initial point of contact for patients arriving at the Emergency Department and ensuring patient management systems are accurately updated and processes carried out in a timely manner.

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Administration of the Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury patient management system
- Prioritising competing admin tasks for efficient patient flow
- Processing patient information, records and Accident Compensation information
- Showing respect and maintaining confidentiality of information
- Providing great customer service to patients, staff and whanau
- Having empathy, being calm under pressure, and attentive to detailNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
